GLUE Utrecht 2025

GLUE Utrecht 2025

by Joris Wintgens

Earlier this month, we took part in the very first edition of GLUE Utrecht, and it was a great one. OFFSITE was invited to be part of Finished Forms, a curated group exhibition put together by Sanne Kaal, featuring 23 designers.

We brought a lot of new work to Utrecht. One of the highlights: our Delta Chair. The seat and back are made from 4mm aluminium plates that used to shape airflow in indoor sports halls. Always stored inside, still in perfect condition. We laser cut, bent, and pressed them into form. The modular frame is built from reclaimed tubes collected across industries. Bolted together with nuts and bolts, so it can be fully disassembled. It’s inspired by classic café chairs, simple, elegant, made to last. Production still needs a few tweaks, but we expect to make around 300 in total.

We also showed our first collaboration with Staco Nederland: a bench made from galvanized steel treads that didn’t meet spec. Production errors turned into design material. The steps are flipped, soft side up, to create a surprisingly comfortable seat.

Another Utrecht moment: a beautiful pendant lamp designed by Zowa Rindt, made from aluminium offcuts from Hydro Pole Products used in the production of streetlights. Speaking of Hydro Pole Products: we also showed the Pole Floorlamp, also made from their production offcuts. Pearl-blasted for a soft matte finish. Coming to our webshop in July 2025.

And then there’s the XYZ Stool. Made in collaboration with Structural Aspect, a design studio known for their clear construction logic. We used 12mm multiplex offcuts from different industries to create a new version of their stool. Each piece is unique, but the construction stays the same, honest, smart, and made to last. This is a first for OFFSITE: a product we can scale without compromise.

Of course, our vases were there too.

GLUE was a super nice weekend. We met a lot of people, had great conversations, and got to show what OFFSITE is about. We left Utrecht full of energy, new ideas, and lots of follow-up to do.
